Abbeyfest 2005

The free Friday night jazz on the Merton Abbey Mills bandstand is one of the highlights of the year for us, and the line up for AbbeyFest 2005 is now out.

Friday 8th July HAMISH STUART BAND
Friday 15th July TONY O'MALLEY
Friday 22nd July LILIANA CHACHIAN
Friday 29th July POLLY GIBBONS
Friday 5th August RACHAEL CALLADINE BAND
Friday 12th August LIANE CARROLL
Friday 19th August SAMARA

We colonise the walkway between our offices in the Apprentice Shop and the Coles Shop for the gigs, and this gives us a unique vantage point with easy access to our kitchen for booze and grub. Let me know if you fancy coming along one evening.

We kick off on July 8, with Hamish Stuart who, while probably best known for his work as the original lead singer/guitarist with "The Average White Band", has also had an illustrious career as both songwriter and performer working with the likes of Diana Ross, George Benson and Chaka Khan (for whom he wrote the No. 1 chart hit "Whatcha Gonna Do For Me"), as well as spending six years with the Paul McCartney Band.

You can't really complain about seeing him for free while drinking our beer can you?
