I watched On the Waterfront with Ben yesterday. Terry Malloy is a longshoreman from an Irish community in New York, navigating between the Scylla and Charybdis of the Church and the mob. That is the same job as my uncle, my grandfather and my great grandfather in Cardiff (Icons passim).
I think knowing that will be good for his imaginative identity.
